Fantastic night had by all at the Wave Project Awards

Updated: Dec 31, 2020

What a night... I can quite simply say we were blown away. We met JoeTaylor, who started the Not-for-Profit with a simple desire: to bring surfing to those young people in distress, to help alleviate their pain and bring them hope that there can be happiness and peace in their lives. Also part of it, the ambassadors and people that shine a light to this cause: Victoria Pendleton C.B.E, 2xOlympic 9xWorld Champion and Sophie Everard, Founder of Mad To Live, Emily Grace Airton, Team Rider for North Core Surf, Lucie Rose Donlan, Free Surfer at Protest Women, Surf Judge at Surfing England & Jenny Jones Snowboard Olympic Bronze Medalist to name but a few. The real congratulations though go to the Kids, to have the strength to say yes to an adventure that leads them into the ocean, yes to the healing power that such sport brings and yes to life. It does not matter where you have been, it only matters where you have the courage to go. Victoria summed it up perfectly... “Courage is not something you’re born with, or can train, it is simply there for you when you need it.  Courage is something we should take pride in finding within ourselves and also passing on to others, through encouragement.”
